ROD McCRACKEN - DIRECTOR
EXPLOSIVE BLASTING AND DEMOLITION

Rod’s first experience using explosives was in 1962 at the age of 16, whilst open cut and underground mining in South Western Queensland on family opal leases.

Rod commenced general excavation work in Sydney in 1966. Contracts at that time consisted mainly of small projects, house pads, trenching, rock excavation, septic tank holes, underhouse excavation, and a high percentage of work involved the use of explosives in very close proximity to other buildings and main roads.

Demolition work was undertaken mainly in NSW from 1968. Over the subsequent years, the projects became larger and more complex. No sub-contract projects were ever undertaken.

To date, more than 500 minor but mostly major concrete, brick and steel residential, commercial and industrial structures (to name a few), have been demolished utilising Rod’s knowledgeable aforementioned methods.
